training ride in Barcelona

Really enjoyed my ride through Barcelona’s “Ronda Verda” today – north along the coast, before turning back and up-hill to an old, and beautiful monastery.  Then back downhill to the river, along the river and back to the beach:)

We loaded some of Jose’s panniers with random stuff we found in the bike shop – anything to get it nice and heavy and give me a preview of weight-to-come !  It was indeed tougher biking with that added weight, but a challenge I am more than willing to take on!

Hope you enjoy the photos :)

First ride in Tarija Valley – San Lorenzo, La Victoria…

Had a great first, real ride out here in the Tarijeña campo; went north this time up to San Lorenzo and then back down and up through another town (forget what it’s called!) and La Victoria to cycle back to Tarija.  A total of 50 km at best…although the many ups and downs made it a fairly challenging and diverse ride.

Opportunity to borrow a bicycle from a friend of a friend instead of continuing to rent…depending on the quality of said bicycle I may be able to save a few more Bolivianos!

In the meantime, here are some photos so that you can enjoy this beautiful Tarija views with me:

Training for the ride – part I

Hi!

In anticipation for the ride I am, of course, also preparing my body for the thousands of kilometers it is going to bike this summer!  As I’m living in the Sacred Valley of Peru I’m faced with certain advantages and disadvantages of living here vis-à-vis my desired training schedule.
